Running animations lag every few seconds

Each of my characters when running seem to take 3 or 4 strides then skip a stride. It looks odd and very annoying.My game works fine, i've tried everything, driver updates, even in the lower setting this still happens. The game works fine but i have this annoying bug.

Is there a way to fix this?

Launcher won't start the game.

Hello.

I just downloaded lotro a few days ago and it has already downloaded all of the game data and high resolution. But when I click on the launch game button on the launcher, it downloads a few things then asks for the administrator password. I type in the password and then it just closes the thing and shows the launcher. What should I do?

Game now crasjes two Separate computers

OK I was traveling all last week so I come home and updated to U14.1.

Will first my Desktop which is a brand new Powerspec G214 has developed a fun habit of crashing. Please note this is a window 8 64 bit machine.

This morning I was on my email, etc then decided to update the game. Once I updated the game I logged in an was promptly crashed. The notice was "Search about Memory Management to learn more about this issue".

Well the issue is now I can not run a virus program, do any kind of serious looking on what might be causing the real problem, because anything after a minute to 4 my computer crashes for the same reason.

OK I think well it is always possible something weird happened to the desktop, so it is now is the shop.

Well my backup plan was to us my laptop. It is a windows 7 64 bit machine. So I update the game and guess what? I loaded into the game and crash within 10 second. I mean I barely got to see my character load into game.

So I try again and now it just hangs on the load screen.

Well after searching the forums to find an answer I see nothing about what could be causing this.

The only thing I changed other than the U14.1 update was my Nvida drivers.

So what might be the issue since this is two separate machines along with two different operating systems along with different video cards. If the new Nvida drivers are causing the problem, why would not not make a post telling folks to go back to the old drivers?

Plus where is the button to report such issues to the Tech team? I can not find anyplace to report this weird situation.

Question about installing LOTRO in the future

I was wondering if in case I ever had to reinstall LOTRO in the future if I could use my old Shadows of Angmar disc to download the game, then just let the client update itself? If I ever had to reinstall I don't want all that extra stuff that gets downloaded, like Happy Cloud or Akami. So would installing from my SoA disc install the game and then update itself to the recent version without any of that garbage 3rd party stuff that gets downloaded? Thanks!

Launcher takes me back to login screen after choosing server

I used to play LOTRO a lot, I took a break for a couple of months, then came back. After spending four hours downloading the game, I sat down ready to play. I logged in, and chose my server. I picked my server, Laurelin, waited for it to boot up, then it takes me back to the login screen. It isn't the server. it does this with every other server as well. I am running windows 8. What can I do to get the server to boot up

New player unable to successfully install game--Akamai error

My friend played LOTRO briefly a few years ago, on another computer. He tried to install the game on his new computer, and here is the email I received from him:

Well, I ‘ve been at this all night and run into a stone wall. Apparently it was at least a few years, and at least one computer, since I played the game. So my character is lost, I think, and my computer did not have LOTR installed so I tried to install it. It appears to have installed, but only after many hours. However now when I try to initiate the game I get this other thing, the Akamai NetSession Interface and it simply won’t install so I seem to be stuck.

I come to a license agreement splash screen and when I click on “I Agree” it immediately gives me an error message, followed by a TurbineLauncher has stopped working message and that’s it. Windows boots out of the program and I cannot seem to get past that and I’ve Googled for solutions with no luck. So the game is not operational and I think my old character is gone.

Frustrating…. And that’s not even getting into the game…

He said that he received the same error when he tried to download the game through Steam.

This is a problem unlike any I've encountered. He has given up trying, but I was hoping that someone would be able to suggest a solution so that he could give it one more try.

Error code 128

Hey guys im having some serious issues with LOTRO at the moment. I am getting constant crashes and the computer closes the game then gives me error code 128 saying critical graphics error, I do not get this with any other game except lotro. It seems to be whenever I click travel now or go to loading screens, recently its also just started randomly crashing in the open world. I have reinstalled drivers and that doesnt work, really not sure what to do now. Does anyone have any advice?

I am running on a 16GB laptop with i7 and a nvidia 765m so my computer is definitely good enough to be running on max settings.

can't log 2 chars out of 8

My problem begun when i was doing the daily fishing quest "the salmon run" on my main. just when i wanted to fish near the waterfall, i got a pop up that lotro client has stopped working blahblah. an appcrash.
since then whenever i want to log this toon i got that error message in the loading screen.
Of course same happened to my other char too yesterday while doing that quest so basically my 2 main chars are gone for the moment.
Since todays server downtime i don't get that error pop up but the game just closes and i'm on my desktop.

My other 6 chars are fine to play so there's something in Lamedon area that caused that failure for me.

I'm disappointed that after several /bug and submitted tickets i did not get ANY response and that for several days now.

Guess i just have to spam them with my problem or maybe i should change the title to "need help in lotro store - can't spend money" to get a faster response? :(

edit: make that 3 chars now. different spot but still in Lamedon. this is gettting really annoying now...
ps: i was in a raid in that area, only my char is affected though

Installer crashing.

Computer crashed about a week ago. Reinstalled windows 8. now I reinstall lotro and the Akamai EULA repeats over and over. installs the game to 66% then crashes. comes up with the error pop up "Internal error, please contact customer support" and on the installer it states "Failed to initialize or install Akamai netsession interface, reason [5]"

I read up and some people have said try to change the button up top to EN again. Cant do it. as soon as I hit I Agree on the EULA it pops up again and you cant click on the installer.

Yes my fire walls are off and yes my A/V is off. Yes I tried to install off of steam, full, and play instantly. All the same.

7 years never had this problem before. Any ideas?

Video settings reset after game closes

Hey all,

Been trying to fix this for awhile. Running the game through steam on a windows 7 machine. My windows user settings are set to admin and full access. I right click on the Lord of the Rings Online folder in the My Documents folder and uncheck the "read only" box. (Though going back into the properties shows that setting as being reset to read only again.)

Not sure what else I can do. Also on a possible unrelated note, when I exit the game, lotroclient.exe remains active in my processes. This happen to anyone else?

Crashing / losing connection every 10 minutes - VERY annoying!

Extremely annoying.


I have 16GB ram so I don't think that's an issue...




I log in, all is fine. After 10-20 minutes my character freezes in place, but action around me (including chat) continues. After about a minute that freezes as well, and then I go to black screen, connection lost.


If I force quit client during this and log right back in, it works fine.

The key bindings I used to have for ctrl+m no longer work and when I try to map ctrl+m it does not pick up the m.

Weird 3D blur??

Hi all,
Having a bit of trouble with what looks like 3d blur (e.g what a 3d movie looks like without having the glasses on), on all characters and backgrounds. I have tried playing around with the graphics settings, but to no avail! Menu's and such are fine. Any help would be appreciated!

Launcher stuck at downloading en Loading screen 1

It stays like that for about ten minutes then moves on the the next. I keep having to download every single time I want to play. I've reinstalled the game 3 times now. Whenever I finish downloading the game the first time i launch it it works fine. But when i want to play again the next day that is when the launcher is stuck downloading the en loading screen and all the other languages. I've installed through the express install, the standard resolution install, and through steam. Thx in advance.

404 Error - Can not find

I get the 404 error after it goes through its checking of iterations, etc. I saw the forum post from 2010 and tried all the fixes, such and deleting the turbine folder in appdata, there are no files in the patch or bingat folder, etc. But no resolution. Since beta this has been my first issue with this. A week ago I was getting the 201 error and none of the solutions on the forums fixed it, so I gave up. Decided to try again, and dont get the 201 since I cant get passed the downloading screen, and now get the 404 error

Issues with character creation

Hey yall, having some issues when going to create a new character. It will allow me to pick a class and gender but it shows no options when it comes to race. Plain black empty background. tryna get started but i cant :( help appreciated!!!

game just exiting out

So i just did a nvidia software update, and now my lotro will just exit by itself within a minute or two of being in the game. It doesnt say anything just closes the client and i have to log back in. Do you happen to know what is causing that and how can I fix it?

Failed Akamai NetSession Interface

I haven't logged in in a while and when I tried today, the Akamai NetSession Interface notice popped up and I hit agree then it froze on trying to download Akamai and this message appeared "Failed to initialize or install Akamai NetSession Interface, reason [12]. Can someone please tell what is wrong and how I can possibly fix it. Please im dying to play this game again!!!

Turbine Launcher Crushing

So i decided to start playing LOTRO again after a break i had from the game
But the Turbine Launcher is constantly crushing
The Akamai EULA pops up and when i click I agree it reappears
I noticed that some other users face the same problem that I do
Any help is welcome!

Graphics Issue

Hi there,

I wonder if any experts can help me figure this one out? Having returned to game recently I have noticed that certain skills are missing certain graphical features/lighting effects, the most obvious example being my LM. If I use bane flare the toon will carry out the animation but no light effects, same for blinding flash and SOP righteousness (moving hands no staff and lighting effects).

My Rig

GPU: GeForce GTX 760
CPU: AMD A10-7700K APU with Radeon(TM) R7 Graphics
Memory: 8.00 GB RAM
OS: Windows 8.1

I have all the graphics turned on and at highest settings, I have tried dialling back on all of the advanced graphics options but to no success. Firstly is this a common issue and if not has anyone fixed a similar issue? Thank you in advance for any help given
